Led by Chief Instructor Thomas Bardwell, a multi-time ATA National and State Champion, Mango Martial Arts Academy was established to bring authentic ATA Taekwondo to Ireland. What started out as a small group of passionate students has grown into one of Ireland’s most trusted and respected martial arts academies.
Our approach is based on professionalism, community, and care. We have created an inclusive and family-friendly atmosphere that will allow people of all ages, from pre-schoolers to professionals, to train in safety, improve fitness, and develop life skills beyond the mat.
Our teaching staff is headed by Chief Instructor Thomas Bardwell and Instructor Annemarie Bardwell, both of whom are internationally certified ATA Taekwondo black belts.
Combined, they bring decades of experience teaching and competing across the USA, UK, and Europe.
Mr Bardwell focuses on discipline, confidence, and personal growth through the mastery of martial arts.
Mrs Bardwell, a 2023 ATA World Champion, inspires students with her precision, positivity, and dedication to excellence.
Each instructor at Mango Martial Arts is trained professionally on a continuous basis, meaning every class conforms to the exacting safety and quality standards of ATA worldwide.
We have created a modern, family-friendly dojo facility in Castlebar, complete with professional-grade mats, training equipment, and a warm atmosphere. Classes are structured and closely supervised to ensure challenge and fun for every student.
Whether it’s to get fit, learn self-defence, or gain confidence, our space has everything one needs to succeed, from classes in ATA Tigers for ages 4–7 years to adult Taekwondo classes.
